About the

MOVEMENT

who we are

HIGH PERFORMING BLACK GIRL exists to DISRUPT THE LIE that as women, our worth is measured by how much of ourselves we give away at work, at home, and in our community. There’s no amount of performing, doing, or giving that can manipulate our worthiness.  AS DAUGHTERS OF THE LIVING GOD, OUR WORTH IS INHERENT.

From this belief, OUR MISSION is to equip women with the tools, community, and truth to break free from performance to embrace lives of harmony, purpose, and joy.

OUR VISION is to see a generation of women free from performance, living in their Kingdom worth.

about our founder

HI, I’M MARIAMA SUWANEH. For most of my life, I fought for the space to be seen,

valued, and enough. Early on, I learned from those meant to protect me that if I

wanted to be loved, I had to prove I was worthy of it. So I became the girl who did it all.

The overachiever. The dependable one. The woman everyone could count on.

I built a life that often looked full but left me feeling empty and depleted. I chased

perfection as if it were oxygen, showing up for everyone else while slowly losing

touch with myself.

By 28, I had achieved my dream job, serving as Acting Chief Equity Officer for the

third-largest city in Washington State. I was the youngest person and one of the few

Black women to hold that level of leadership in the organization’s history. From the

outside, it looked like success. But behind the accomplishments, I was running on

fumes. I had spent so long performing strength that I forgot what peace felt like.

So, I did the unthinkable. I quit.

In the quiet months that followed, God met me with the question I had been avoiding my entire life: “Do you believe you are enough simply because I made you?” That question changed everything. It taught me that success is not about achievement or approval; it is about alignment with faith, with purpose, and with joy.

That season birthed High Performing Black Girl, a refuge and reminder for women like me who have spent their lives performing for approval when God has already declared us worthy. Through HPBG, I equip women with tools, community, and truth to break free from performance and embrace lives of harmony, purpose, and joy.

When women encounter this space, I want them to exhale, to feel empowered, seen, and reminded that they do not have to earn what is already theirs.

Because in Christ, our worth is not achieved.
It is entrusted.
